Liberty & Freedom

In 1776 in the back hills of virgin laid a small farm.  The Westhope family, who farmed the land, were good hard working people.  They wanted no part of the troubles that had shook the land of late, but when a couple wounded soldiers showed up they did the Christian thing of taking them in and caring for their wounds.

When the British found out, the farm and all on it was burned to the ground.  When the son Daniel came home from taking their goods to market he found the farm ruined.  He could not stand it any longer, that day he joined the army.

What only his family had known was that Daniel had a strange ability.  He could talk inside of their heads, he seemed to know what people were thinking, and at times he could even make things float in the air.  While serving, his abilities came to the attention of General George Washington.

Washington realized that this was a war that could not be won only by force of arms, but in the hearts of the budding nation.  He convinced Daniel that the country needed a symbol.  However as Daniel was worried about his family’s safety he designed a costume and became the symbol of the revolution.

Now on his trusted steed Freedom he fights as and for Justice and Liberty.

It is a mystery of what happened to Daniel after the war, he just disappeared in 1783 and was never seen again…
