Episode 3: A Tale to Tell James Starblazer, human Psionic Warrior Rysrax the Hosbecite ambassador Alexander Fane The Lion Man Hunter David Crizal, human pilot Dr. Vahlen, human engineer Hauk Birdman Scout Having landed on the Robotic City Fragment of Mechanos, Rysrax and Dr. Vahlen explored the city to find someone to purchase the excess gear they had acquired. While they were returning to the ship however they noticed that they were being followed by a gaunt human. When they confronted him, he revealed that he had a bomb strapped to his chest. During the fight Dr. Vahlen disarmed the bomb and they were able to subdue him, where he revealed that his name was Gregor. He told them that he had once been a spacejock, but then he had been captured by the queen. Prepared to die he was surprised when she embraced him instead. She drained his vitality from him, and now he craved her embrace once more. He begged them to kill her so no other would suffer like him, which Dr. Vahlen promised to do, having no more life in him he passed on. The group then tried to find a Robot Man Salvage ship to see if they could use their stolen shuttle as a down payment for. When that failed they found a local artist who agreed to paint the ship for them (It turned out as being light blue with rainbow highlights). Boarding the now disguised ship they headed back into the slipstream to reach Sandpit. However it did not go smoothly, for a Angeli Scout Ship marked as a part of a pirate fleet attacked. Thanks to the skill of Dave they were able to board the ship and a pitched fight on board soon had all of the pirates dead (Except for one who was sent naked into the slipstream...). However as they were transferring gear, a Pirate Raider attack. After dispatching the second group of pirates the same way, the crew started to investigate the new ship only to find that one of its cargo holds was replaced with additional room for the engine (An advanced thrusters unit). They also freed a group of slaves who had been captured on Sandpit, promising to return them home. While this was going on a third pirate vessel attacked. Scaring them away the group landed on Indum to sell the Angeli Scout ship. Staying only briefly on the paradice like fragment they returned to the Slip where they were confronted by a 4th Pirate vessel. Once again they intimidated them away. Arriving near sandpit they scared off a merchant vessel. Flying over Sandpit they spotted yet another pirate vessel and a hidden village. Using the ship board weapons they were able to kill or capture the pirates on the ground. They freed the Tropicos that the pirates had enslaved. After doing so the leader of the Village, named Jahmon, told them that they were pacifists, that their scientists had no cure, but perhaps the Oracle at Nivek would be helpful. The Grateful heroes proceeded to give the residents of Sandpit their cargo of seeds and food stuff and the most recent Pirate raider.
